YOUNG JUSTICE - Team Tournament Breakdown

The First team of our second bracket is another version of the Teen Titans, but with a different lineup. Young Justice was/is the name of a cartoon show that focuses on the sidekicks and young versions of your favorite DC superheroes. This is going to be another tough team to beat. Let's take a look at the players.

Robin (Tim Drake) - The 3rd Robin and one of the smartest members of Young Justice. Tim Drake was Bruce Wayne's neighbor, and after an accident that killed his mother and left his dad in a catatonic state, was taken in by Bruce and Alfred. While staying with them, he was able to deduce Bruce Wayne's night-time activities as Batman. Bruce was very impressed and began training Tim to be his next Robin. Tim wasn't as talented as Dick Grayson, but proved to be better with technology and detective work. He's been trained by Batman, the world's greatest detective and master of martial arts, so he's physically formidable. But, also like Batman, Tim is human and therefore as durable and immune to attacks as humans are. He carries an assortment of gadgets and wields a bo staff.  He's also the team's strategist, but he's also still young and NOT as good as Batman or Dick Grayson (Nightwing) so the chance of him making a mistake is greater than both of them.

Superboy (Conner Kent) - back in the 90's there was the Death of Superman storyline, after which came the Reign of Superman storyline that introduced 4 new contenders for the Superman title. Superboy is actually a clone of Superman. Clark Kent's body was taken from it's crypt a couple of times after he was buried, one of those times was by Project Cadmus, a secret government funded research project buried in the mountains outside of Metropolis. There, Superman's DNA was obtained and cloned. Superboy was being grown in a tube, but was prematurely released before he could reach full adulthood. He has the same abilities as Superman, super strength, speed, invulnerability, and flight. But he is NOT Superman and so doesn't possess all of his powers like x-ray vision. He doesn, however, have an extra ability; tactile telekinesis. That means, by touching an object, he can sense it's weaknesses and take it apart with his mind. This is nearly instantaneous and doesn't not require much thought at all. When he first appeared, he wore red, blue, and yellow spandex underneath a black leather jacket and a piereced ear (hahaha that's the 90's for ya!). I like the Young Justice version, where his costume is jeans, sneakers and a black and red t-shirt with a Superman "S" on it.

Kid Flash (Bart Allen) - Barry Allen's great grandson from the future. Bart comes to the past to help continue his Great Grandfather's crusade. He's the team's speedster and nearly as fast as the original Flash, and comparable to Wally West. They all use their speed in similar ways.

Wondergirl - the young Wonder Woman and like Wonder Woman she has super strength, can fly and carries a mystic lasso.

Aqualad - the Aquaman of the group, and like Aquaman he has super strength, swim at superspeeds and can withstand underwater pressures which gives him super durability while on land.

Miss Martian - the younger, female version of Martian Manhunter and arguably the strongest member of the team. With strength comparable to Superboy, she is also a strong telepath and can shapeshift and even turn invisible.

Red Arrow (Speedy) - Green Arrow's protege. He's an archer that carries gimmicked arrows. Like Green Arrow, he's human, but at peak physical condition. He's athletic and tough, but also hot headed.

The Odds:
Young Justice is a young Justice League. But their power level isn't as high as the Justice League. Superboy, Miss Martian, Kid Flash and Aqualad all are very tough though and will be the toughest team members to beat, and the addition of Robin, and Red Arrow, their first round competitors are in for a fight!
