MARVEL BIG BADDIES - Team tournament breakdown

This is not an official team, although some of these villains have teamed up in the past. Jimmy and I decided that Marvel's big villains (World-Level bad guys) weren't being represented, and so we made a team for them.

The Team:

Doctor Doom - full name is Dr. Victor Von Doom and he is the ruler of the kingdom of Latveria. He has been the arch-nemesis of the Fantastic 4 for their entire career as well as one of Marvel Comics most well known villains. Doom is in my top 5 favorite bad guys of all time. He is a genius, a skilled scientist AND sorcerer (very strong magic user actually), skilled at hand-to-hand combat, mind transferal, and diplomatic immunity because of his ties to Latveria. His armor allows him superhuman strength and durability, gauntlet scanners, an aresenal of high-tech weapons and gadgets, rocket boots for flight, and can generate force fields.

The Red Skull - Johann Schmidt was a member of Hitler's Third Reich, and would sew seeds of evil for generations after the Nazis fell. He is a genius-level strategist and scientist. A political mastermind. Highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat, as well as a highly skilled marksman. Red Skull has stayed alive and relevant for so long because he was able to clone Captain America's body. This cloned body gives him superhuman strength and stamina, and a healing factor that doesn't allow him to get tired.

Dormammu - is a powerful magical being from the Dark Dimension and enemy of Doctor Strange the Sorcerer Supreme. He controls, what seems like an endless, army of beings called "Mindless Ones" that have no face and no thought, but act out Dormammu's orders. He is said to be one of the most powerful known mystical entities in the Marvel Comics Universe. He is an interdimensional being composed of mystical energy that can be used to achieve almost any effect he desires including: energy projection, matter manipulation, resizing, teleportation, possession, necromancy, bestowing of power, and creating demon lords. He is stronger in the Dark Dimension, but can draw upon it's power while on Earth. His own significant weakness is that he's vulnerable in enviornments that cannot fuel his mystical Faltine Flames.

Ultron - is an android originally created by Hank Pym (aka Ant-Man, Giant Man, and Yellow Jacket) to help the Avengers. The artificial intelligence became sentient and saw it's programming to mean that in order to save mankind, he must destroy it so that mankind could live forever in legacy. He is the arch-nemesis of the Avengers, and one of their deadliest enemies. When Ultron is defeated, his conciousness finds a place to hide until he can build a new stronger body and devise a new plan to destroy the Avengers. Ultron's A.I. gives him a super genius-level intellect along with superhuman strength, speed, and durability. Ultron can also fly via boosters in his feet and can fire energy blasts from his hands. For this tournament, Ultron also has a robotic body made of adamantium, the same indestructable metal that laces Wolverine's skeleton.

The Mandarin - is an enemy of Iron Man and has been a thorn in his side for decades. Most people remember the Mandarin from the movie Iron Man 3, played by Ben Kingsley. Part of the criticisms of that movie was that the Mandarin was NOTHING like his comic book counterpart. The comic version is a superb athlete in peak physical condition who is also a master of martial arts. His skills in martial arts are so great that he can split Iron Man's magnetic-beam reinforced alloy armor with repeated blows. Along with the physical side of martial arts comes the mental side, his mastery allows him to go for years without food and water, sustaining himself solely on the mastery of his chi. So besides the ability to destroy Iron Man's armor with his bare hands, the Mandarin also wields the 10 Rings, which he wears on each finger of both hands. The rings's powers cannot be explained by contemporary Earth science, but it is said that they once served as near-limitless power for the engines of a star-ship. The Mandarin learned to convert their power to fit his personal use and to respond to his mental commands. Each ring grants him different abilities such as: ice/cold manipulation; light manipulation (can darken any area around him); mental intensification (increases his own psionic energy so he can control people's minds); disintegration beam; electricity manipulation; wind manipulation; fire manipulation; one can fire an "impact beam" or concussive force blasts; gravity manipulation; and matter rearranger.

Loki - the god of mischief and Thor's adopted brother. Loki is actually a Frost Giant, taken from his parents, and raised by Odin and Frita on Asgard. Tom Hiddleston plays him perfectly in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Loki is a master manipulator, deceiver, tactician and strategist. His magical powers allow him astral projection, energy blasts, flight, illusion casting, inter-dimensional teleportation, shapeshifting, and telepathy.

Abomination - Emil Blonsky is a mutated human who is strong enough to go punch for punch with the Incredible Hulk. His abilities, along with superhuman strength, include superhuman speed, stamina and durability. Also a regenerative healing factor, underwater breathing via gills, Hellfire projection, and the ability to enter suspended animation for long periods.

The Odds:
Despite the fact that these characters aren't an official team, their combined might makes them top contenders. In the first round, they are set to meet The Inhumans which should be an interesting fight!
